Guerlain perfumes names DDB Dubai for social work

Omnicom creative agency DDB Dubai has announced that it has been selected as the regional social agency for Guerlain, a luxury perfume and cosmetics brand that was founded in France more than 190 years ago.

The appointmen­t comes following a pitch process held at the end of 2018. The agreement between Guerlain and DDB covers the greater Middle East region and was kicked off in January with a new campaign for the “hugely successful” Les Absolus d’Orient collection, said the agency. Both parties are gearing up for an eventful and exciting social year.

Commenting on the appointmen­t, Nathan Ellingson, Guerlain’s regional director for export, said: “From our first meeting with DDB, we felt like they had a strong understand­ing of the roots of our maison and a clear vision of where we need to go socially. We are excited to be working with DDB and look forward to leveraging their expertise to reinforce our message in the social arena.”

Iris Minnema, managing director of DDB Dubai, said: “Creating local relevance for global brands is a wellknown challenge in our industry.
