Congratulations Pippa!
Pippa Middleton has been the name on everyone’s lips over the last week. For those of you who don’t know, the sort of royal (well, not really) wed her fiancée James Matthews on May 20 and our newsfeeds have been filled with the idyllic photos of the wedding. Many of you will remember (it’s pretty hard to forget actually) that Pippa became a household name when she inadvertently stole the thunder from her sister Kate Middleton’s wedding to Prince William all thanks to that dress. But don’t let appearances fool you. Pippa is much more than a pretty girl in a dress.
Pippa, the Student
Pippa graduated from the University of Edinburgh with an English Literature degree. After graduating she did a number of odd jobs from PR to event planning until Penguin Books paid Middleton a £400,000 advance to write a book on party planning.
Pippa, the Writer
Pippa’s book, Celebrate, was published in 2012, and had lower than anticipated sales as many people mocked the obvious advice she gave. Pippa has written for a number of publications since then including Vanity
Fair, The Spectator magazine and has a food column in the supermarket magazine
Waitrose Kitchen from spring 2013.
Pippa, the Athlete
Pippa is quite the athlete it seems setting herself major physical challenges every year. Pippa has climbed Mont Blanc, sailed the Atlantic and competed in the world’s longest cross-country ski race in Sweden and tackled the Coast to Coast triathlon in New Zealand involving 150 miles of running, cycling and kayaking. Wow! Pippa, the Philanthropist Charities are very close to her heart. Pippa, is the ambassador for many charities, one of them being the Mary Hare School for deaf children. She is also an ambassador to the British Heart Foundation (BHF) and in 2016, Middleton released her second book,
Heartfelt, whose proceeds go to the British Heart Foundation.
Pippa, the Lady
Pippa married James Matthews, a former professional racing driver who is now a hedge fund manager and the eldest son and heir of David Matthews, the Laird of Glen Affric. It’s reported that following James’s inheritance of his father’s lairdship, Pippa will be accorded the courtesy title of Lady Glenaffric.
