AKSHAY REPLACES SALMAN

Akshay Kumar will soon be seen in Anees Bazmee’s sequel to No Entry. Salman Khan was supposed to be part of the film since he was the lead in the original but looks like Salman has chosen to play the lead in Race 3 instead. Trade magazine Box Office India reveals that the name of the film will be No Entry Mein Entry. We hear that the producers of the movie were upset with Salman because he gave away their dates to the makers of Race 3 in spite of giving a commitment to the movie. The makers had a hard time finding an A-lister lead but are happy with their new choice.

VIDYA WALKS OUT OF MEENA KUMARI BIOPIC

We think Vidya Balan was the perfect choice for the Meena Kumari biopic which will be directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia but it looks like the actress has walked out of the film. Apparently, Meena Kumari’s family said that they were not happy with Vidya being cast for the film which triggered Vidya’s decision to walk out of the film which was initially offered to Kangana Ranaut. Vidya said that the script was not doing justice to the legendary actress. While talking to Indian media, Vidya said, “No, I’m not doing the Meena Kumari biopic anymore. It didn’t quite work out. I love Meena Kumari. If I had a girl crush on somebody, it would be her. If she was alive, I’d probably land up to see her all the time.”

SIMRAN TEAM TO BE BACK

Kangana Ranaut will once again team up with her Simran producer Shailesh Singh for a thriller which might feature the new It Boy of the industry Rajkummar Rao. The actor has been on a high this year after giving hits like Bareilly Ki Barfi, Newton and Trapped. We hear that his collaboration with Kangana will be directed by a South Indian filmmaker. Kangana is currently busy with Manikarnika. Her last film Simran failed to create any buzz at the box office, even though her performance was much appreciated in the movie.

DEETS ON SAIF’S NEXT

The industry’s faith in Saif Ali Khan seems to be shaken after his last movie Chef flopped at the box office. In fact, the makers of his next, Kalaakaandi, were not ready to put money in the promotion of the movie to release it on the big screen. They were hoping to sell the rights of the movie to some digital platform but Vikramaditya Motwane and Anurag Kashyap came forward to help release the film in a big way. However, it looks like Saif’s upcoming film Baazaar will not find a similar fate. The movie was supposed to release on Christmas 2017 but now the release has been postponed to next year.
