Twitter’s latest move to sanitise its space by deleting the accounts of defunct users has come at a heavy price for certain celebs. While reports have it that in Bollywood alone, many big shots have lost hundreds of thousands of precious followers, the real cost of this move is yet to be ascertained. In a world where your brand equity and social status is proportional to the number of ‘followers’ you have amassed on social media, the current action by Twitter must surely hurt.
