PUT IT IN A SONG, KANYE

Over the weekend, Kanye West went on a rant. Not a Twitter rant. He posted four videos on Instagram. “First of all I want to address Nick Cannon… Like, I understand that you used to date my wife, but you get in an interview, don’t mention my wife. If someone brings my wife up, you say, ‘Hey, I respect that man, I’m not speaking on that.’ Don’t be making no suggestions . . .”

Kanye was referring to a recent interview Nick Cannon did with Vladtv where he was asked about his relationship with Kim K. Kanye then went on to call out Drake.

“What I’m looking for, for my spirit to take accountability is, the fact that there’s people making rumors or thinking that you f***ed my wife, and you not saying nothing and you carrying it like that, that don’t sit well with my spirit…”

Kanye went on to criticize male model Tyson Beckford. Tyson spoke out about Kim K’s excessive plastic surgery a few months ago. Kim K fired back online by questioning his sexuality. Did Kanye really need to defend his wife in this instance when she’s more than capable of defending herself? Debatable.

Allegedly, matriarch and part time devil/evil genius Kris Jenner isn’t particularly happy with her son-in-law’s latest stunt/emotional outpour. She feels that it’s damaging to her family. OK then. I also wouldn’t be surprised if she encouraged him to do it.

So, here’s my thing. It’s great that Kanye feels the need to defend his wife. Every person has the right to defend their partner. Even if your partner is someone who built their empire by exposing their life in every aspect to the world. To add, Kim K has a way about her. By “way”, I mean that Kim K always wanted to be famous. Kim K attached herself to men, from the start of her career, that would help propel her into the spotlight. Kim K is tactical and her mother knows how to manipulate the media.

Simply put, they wanted this. The shows, the exposure, the fame, all of it was part of a plan. And they still want more. I mean what kind of person and that too, one of the most famous women in the world, who probably has more money than any person needs - is still happy to be an ambassador and promote appetite suppressant lollipops to young girls. Someone like Kim K. Call her a savvy business woman or the worst example for young girls there is, but in both cases Kim K wanted if not all of this, she wanted most of it.

Everyone is part of someone’s past. And in Kim K’s case she was very happy to publicly be part of someone’s past. And she’s more than happy to remain a spectacle of controversy with no end goal. Although it’s the right of every husband to defend his wife and vice-versa, it seems a bit… nonsensical to me that Kanye West expects everyone to stop talking about his wife when she’s more than happy to be the topic of conversation. My advice to Kanye isn’t to shut up. My advice is to put it all in a song. People are most likely to listen to that than an Instagram or Twitter rant.
