Year-enders can be a pain in the neck. Literally. Imagine a few weeks before the dawn of the new year (unless you like us had a list prepared from Day 1 of 2018…) you are craning your neck, desperately looking over your shoulders, to spot all the pop culture moments that made the mark in the last 12 months. The movies that brought in the big bucks (we are going on pure faith here, based on box-office reports); the ones that failed to get more than a measly star from the critics; the A-listers who made the year more memorable by getting hitched, or unhitched as the case may be; the sporting events that will go down in history or the political incidents that will be talked about for years to come; every year has its share of memory makers.

But more than the shenanigans of the so called celebrities or the fashion trends that hit the sidewalks (did you know tiny sunglasses were a thing of 2018???) what should matter the most is the way the year shaped up for you. That’s why we think it’s important to do a quick recap – whether in your mind or on paper (we always prefer an old fashioned notebook) – of the hits and misses from your own life. What are your biggest achievements this year; what health fad did you attempt and leave halfway through; how many books are left from your must-read list, how often were you able to visit family or fly off to tick off the bucket list? Each of us have our own Pandora’s Box which needs to be dealt with before 2019 rises up. So don’t forget to take one last glance back before the fireworks go up at midnight. By the way, how many of us remember how we brought in 2018? Adieu to 2018!
