Fox on new health woes
Michael J. Fox has opened up about a new spinal cord problem he is facing in addition to his ongoing battle with Parkinson’s disease.
In an interview with The New York Times, the actor, 57, spoke about the spinal surgery, unrelated to his Parkinson’s disease, he underwent last April, reports foxnews. com. “I was having this recurring problem with my spinal cord,” he said.
Fox added: “I was told it was benign but if it stayed static I would have diminished feeling in my legs and difficulty moving. Then all of a sudden I started falling, a lot . ... I had surgery, and an intense amount of physical therapy. And eventually people asked me to do some acting.”
However, Fox revealed when he was supposed to return to work, he suffered another fall. “I woke up, walked into the kitchen to get breakfast, mis-stepped and I went down,” he recalled. “I fractured... my arm. I ended up getting 19 pins and a plate. It was such a blow.”
Following the incident, Fox said he dealt with it by trying “not to get too New Age-y”, reports foxnews.com. “I don’t talk about things being ‘for a reason,’” he noted. “But I do think the more unexpected something is, the more there is to learn from it. In my case, what was it that made me skip down the hallway to the kitchen thinking I was fine when I’d been in a wheelchair six months earlier? It’s because I had certain optimistic expectations of myself, and I’d had results to bear out those expectations, but I’d had failures too. And I hadn’t given the failures equal weight.”
Khloe Kardashian is having a change of heartache: She blames Tristan Thompson, not Jordyn Woods, for breaking up her family. In a series of tweets, Kardashian went from calling out Woods as a homewrecker to absolving her of that. But she didn’t forgive Woods everything.
“What’s been harder & more painful is being hurt by someone so close to me. Someone whom I love & treat like a little sister. But Jordyn is not to be blamed for the breakup of my family. This was Tristan’s fault,” Kardashian posted Saturday on Twitter. Cleveland Cavalier player Thompson is the father of Kardashian’s baby, True. Thompson’s agent Rich Paul declined to comment.
Woods’ interview Friday on Jada Pinkett Smith’s Facebook Watch show, Red Table Talk, prompted Kardashian’s twoday tweet barrage.
On Pinkett Smith’s show, Woods sought to counter social media speculation over what happened with Thompson when she and a group of girlfriends went to a party at the basketball player’s Los Angeles home after a night out.
Kardashian, who is not married to Thompson and maintained a relationship after he cheated on her late in her pregnancy, shot back at Woods on Twitter after the interview. “If you’re going to try and save yourself by going public, INSTEAD OF CALLING ME PRIVATELY TO APOLOGIZE FIRST, at least be HONEST about your story. BTW, You ARE the reason my family broke up!” Kardashian tweeted Friday.
Her posts Saturday took a different tack. Kardashian said in one she was a “rollercoaster of emotions & have said things I shouldn’t have,” later tweeting it was time to move on with life and count her blessings, including “my beautiful baby True.”
