Alia, Ranbir express love at awards show

were the stars of the night as they picked up best actor awards Ranveer Singh won the Critics Award for Best Actor for his role in the film won Best Debutant Award for A kiss and an “I love you” from Alia to Ranbir got their fans on social media talking about their rare public display of affection. Alia referred to Ranbir as her “special one” when she took the stage. The actress surprised the audience, and left Ranbir blushing with her speech.

In a video that is doing the rounds on social media, Alia can be seen saying “I love you”, while Ranbir can be seen blushing over Alia’s special gesture.

Ranbir bagged the Best Actor honour for his role in Sanju. And just when his name was announced as the winner, Alia, who was seated beside him, gave him a side hug and a kiss on the cheek. The sight of Alia and Ranbir holding the Filmfare trophy was soothing to the latter’s mother Neetu Kapoor. She took to Instagram to celebrate their victory, and wrote: “And moments like these make you forget all the stress. Congratula­tions, so proud and happy.” On the work front, Alia and Ranbir will be seen sharing screen space in the upcoming film Brahmastra.

Rao and Surekha Sikri won the Best Actor In A Supporting Role awards. Akshat Ghildial won the Best Dialogue Award for the film.

Ayushmann Khurrana starrer, Sriram Raghavan’s directoria­l venture Andhadhun, won the Critics’ Award for Best Film.

The Best Debutant award has been given to Sara Ali Khan for Kedarnath and Ishaan Khattar for Beyond The Clouds.

Ishaan said, “I am nervous in between so many huge personalit­ies and thank you all.” After receiving the award Sara said, “I remember when I used to come to watch Filmfare and I had a dream to come on this stage as an actress.”

Amar Kaushik won the Best Debut Director award for the film Stree. Hema Malini received The Lifetime Achievemen­t Award for completion of 50 years in the Hindi film industry.
