Sanjay Dutt made a quick dash to Dubai on Wednesday to promote his political drama Prassthanam, which releases in UAE theatres today.

The movie is a remake of the 2010 Telugu drama Prassthanam that starred Sharwanand, Sai Kumar, Sundeep Kishan and Ruby Parihar.

Apart from starring in it, Dutt is also credited as a producer alongside coproducer and wife Maanayata Dutt.

At the press conference held yesterday evening, Dutt was all praise for the city.

“I love Dubai and the UAE. I have a beautiful relationship with the city and I think it’s one of the best cities I’ve ever seen,” he said.

In July, Dutt had taken to Instagram to announce the release of the film and wrote Prassthanam is “a legacy based on power, greed, love and human fallacies!”

Addressing the media, Dutt asserted that he made his own legacy. “I have my own, I don’t carry my father’s legacy. It’s difficult to create your own legacy and carry it forward. But I would want the same for my son.

“Legacy is something that is gained, but it’s better when it’s earned. And that is what my father taught me.

“He used to say, ‘son, I’ll make the movie, but the rest depends on you and how you work on it.’ I think that’s an important message,” Dutt shared.

When asked why we should watch Prassthanam and what makes it stand out, Dutt spoke about the importance of the youth connecting with it.

“Prassthanam is different because nobody has touched that entertainment factor with a political background for a long time. This is an intense, family drama which the youth can connect with. They can connect with the mass,” he said.

“It’s got a lot of entertainment in it with great songs and beautiful performances. It’s very relatable because it can happen in any family. We have chosen a political background because people connect to politics and it caters to all audiences; the mass, the cast and the youth,” the actor concluded.

Prassthanam also features Ali Fazal, Jackie Shroff, Chunky Pandey and Manisha Koirala in key roles.
