Sanjay celebrates 20 years of Vaastav

pure form of acting.

There’s so much talk around the topic of ‘if women can really do it all’ from balancing work, home life and raising a family. What are your thoughts on the matter?

That’s what our play slightly focuses on. Women are really capable of doing that because God has given them that intrinsic multitasking skill. Most of the women have that and because they are a little more sensitive and I would say aware of what goes on around them they are able to do a better job even at work with their sincerity and meticulousness and dedication. In today’s time most of the woman are trained to be professionals from the time they’re in school. So they are very well versed and able to manage their work as well as their home. I think God has given women a little edge of tolerance and a little more of multitasking skill. SANJAY DUTT CREDITS his talent to the film Vaastav, which released in 1999. Sanjay took to Twitter on Monday and wrote: “Celebrating 20 years of ‘Vaastav’, a film which gave me the real sense of being an actor.”

Vaastav completed 20 years of its release in Hindi cinema on Monday. The film’s tagline “The Reality” refers to the harsh realities of life in the Mumbai underworld. The film is said to be loosely based on the life of Mumbai underworld gangster Chhota Rajan. It was directed by Mahesh Manjrekar and also featured Namrata Shirodkar, Sanjay Narvekar, Mohnish Behl, Paresh Rawal, Reema Lagoo and Shivaji Satam.

Sanjay will next be seen in Panipat, an Indian historical period drama film directed by Ashutosh Gowarikar. Based on the Third Battle of Panipat, it also stars Arjun Kapoor and Kriti Sanon. Vicky Kaushal, who will be seen in the spooky tale Bhoot Part 1- The Haunted Ship, says he is scared to watch horror films.

“I was contemplating before I read the script, not after I read the script. So, before I read the script I was like ‘horror? pata nahi kaisai hoga, kya hoga’ because I myself am very scared to watch horror films. So, I didn’t know. When I read the script it really spooked me and I thought it never tried to make me feel scared it was just happening while I was reading and I really got sucked into that story,” Vicky said.

The 31-year-old actor said he knew he was in safe hands. “So, once that happens then it’s about following your heart...

It is a Dharma Productions so you know it’s a good production house... Then I met (director) Bhanu (Pratap Singh) , he was really excited for his horror film... Horror is something that comes naturally to him.. I knew I would be in safe hands,” he added.

The film also stars Bhumi Pednekar. Bhoot... follows a couple on an abandoned ship lying static on a beach; it is based on a true incident that took place in Mumbai. Bhoot Part One: The Haunted Ship will release on February 21, 2020.
