Skaff as a storyteller creates unique textiles

My fashion identity/ethos…

is a combination of storytelling and creating unique textiles. The moment I have a collection to produce I know which textiles to use.

The fashion industry today…

has a huge impact on our world, which is being product polluted. It’s affecting us and most importantly the planet! I would love to change the way workers work very long hours especially in Bangladesh, and sadly they have to bring their children with them to work.

Sustainable fashion…

plays an important role in the fashion industry and we designers should start taking it into great consideration. We should seek to improve our understanding of this emerging concept and shed light on the latest trends, which is a term that nowadays appears everywhere. In my Fall Winter 2019 capsule collection I started to include sustainable fabrics into the collection, and I am looking forward to continue on this path!

When I am creating a piece…

I think of different aspects. Firstly, I think of the mood, design, colour, textiles, quality, craftsmanship, durability, and mostly I stress on the finishing. Secondly, I think of WOMEN. I dress different types of women and each one differs in character, personality, and taste.

Dubai as a fashion hub:

Dubai is the Paris of the Middle East and we have a lot of people who look up to fashion and love it.

At Fashion Forward, fans can expect…

My SS 2020 collection which will be showcased at Fashion Forward Dubai, a lot of new techniques, new textiles (plexi glass that has been cut and put together piece by piece) vibrant colours and mostly, the strong woman!
