IF A STAYCATION IS IN ORDER, DO IT IN TRUE DUBAI STYLE

An icon nestled in the Madinat Jumeirah, Jumeirah Al Qasr is modern-day Dubai in a hotel. Dancing gold Arabian horses line the stunning driveway, the lobby holds a Swarovski crystal chandelier weighing five tonnes, no less, and the rooms are perfectly palatial.

A definite plus to staying in the hotel is that you literally never have to leave. It has eight venues to eat and be entertained at, a souk to spend all your days (and dirhams) in and the best stretch of beach in the city. If you want a little more of a secluded stay, book into Jumeirah Dar Al Masyaf. With is windy paths, gorgeous gardens and ocean views, these divine summer houses are dotted around the Al Qasr grounds just steps from the sand. Fantastic for families, these stunning houses have a private courtyard, a dedicated butler on hand 24/7 and a complimentary happy hour where guests can enjoy drinks and nibbles (every night) in the courtyard majilis.

EAT AT… PIERCHIC

We suggest you wear flats so you can enjoy the gorgeous walk to Pierchic. Located at the end of Jumeirah Al Qasr’s pier, this one-of-a-kind restaurant is perched above the Arabian Gulf. Serving sumptuous Mediterranean seafood, this multi-award-winning restaurant wins on views alone. Enjoy an aperitif in one of the two over-water pods – Chic Bar and Chic Lounge, located either side of the pier.

MUST DO… TAKE AN ABRA RIDE TO THE SOUK

If you do it 10 times it won’t be enough. On hand to take you across the entire property, these shaded abras will transport you to the souk for shopping or beach for swimming.

ENJOY A SUNDOWNER AT… KOUBBA

We love a good terrace and this one just happens to be on a rooftop which makes it even better. Sip the night away with friends knowing you have a short walk (or abra ride) back to your room.
