Editor’sletter
WW hen I wrote my first editor's letter back in March I promised to provide a platform for the creatives of the Middle East, to help the younger generation of our region be noticed, and become a hub for discovering new talent. Welcome to The Dreamer’s Issue. This issue is a celebration of our future artists, photographers, innovators and visionaries. We discovered our cover star Skye Jones, a Saudi ArabianArmenian-English student and photographer who lives in New York on Instagram. Not only has she had her photography work published in various magazines, she was also recently tapped to collaborate and star in cult sunglasses brand Roberi & Fraud’s latest campaign. She’s our one to watch this month. Read her story and see her unseen personal photography work on page110.Onpage102wealsodiscoveredDubai- basedstudent, artistandphotographerKinzyAl Saheal on Instagram. Her images on the themes of female empowerment, justice and peace had us instantly mesmerised by her values. Find a preview of the current exhibition at the Louis Vuitton Fondation in Paris of Jean-Michel Basquiat’s work on page 50. The 21st century art icon was a true example of a dreamer. In the fashion section we discuss old Céline meets new Celine on page 68 and Riccardo Tisci’s debut collection for Burberry on page 62, and in the beauty section, Constance Wu, the actress from the hit film Crazy Rich Asians gives us the low down on her skin care routine. I hope this issue inspires you to follow your dreams.
