A display of courage

Hats off to Binalakshmi Nepram who runs a charity in the northeast state of Manipur in India to help families who have lost a loved one to sectarian violence (‘Surviving the guns’, June 21). I believe it takes a lot of courage to stand up against a mindset that believes the answer to all their problems lies in violence and destruction.

People like Binalakshmi are true humanitarians, who with their noble deeds restore our faith in mankind.

I love you Friday for publishing such inspiring stories that week after week let us know that all is not lost.
