While certain patterns can be season-sensitive (look out for tartan’s return later this year), there’s a wealth of fabulous print in the shops now that will tick the Daliesque surrealism and tribal-inspired designs of Peter Pilotto, Kenzo and Lanvin’s A/W13 shows. Or you can play it safe with subtle paisleys, plain polka dots or classic houndstooth tessellation.
