What’s your favourite type of music? I’m a fan of the electric guitar so rock is my favourite genre, although I also studied classical guitar for three years. Why did you decide to be a musician? In 1985 Brazil was going through a transition from a military government to a Republic again. In the same year, with the end of the military regime, the Rock in Rio music festival started and I saw the band that made me become a musician: Iron Maiden. Artists you admire? Steve Vai, of Whitesnake and Frank Zappa fame, is an amazing guitarist and composer. Tosin Abasi – the guitarist of progressive metal band Animals as Leaders – plays an eight-string guitar like no other, mixing jazz fusion, metal and classical. Your all-time favourite song? Beethoven’s Symphony No 9. My mum used to play it for me as a baby.

Few As Much perform at Jambase, Souq Madinat Jumeirah, Tuesdays

to Saturdays from 9pm to 1am.
