W hen I read the article on the Montessori Model United Nations (‘The child ambassadors’, February 28) I was excited as I had taken part.

I met so many new people and I learnt the importance of teamwork, leadership, friendship, diverse cultures, and proposing solutions to world problems. This three-day conference inspired me in so many ways. I felt so confident while giving my opinion, because I knew my voice was being heard. As a 14-year-old I’ve learnt that just because we’re young, we can still speak up and be heard.

I would like to thank my school, instructors, teachers and friends who encouraged me to participate in this event. Thank you, Friday, and keep on motivating us!
