I found time to read Where’d You Go, Bernadette by Maria Semple. In it, I travelled to Antarctica, had a crash course in modern architecture and learnt about the inner workings of Microsoft’s Seattle offices, chuckling the whole time – a must-read. Shreeja Ravindranathan, lifestyle writer It’s all about #saltbae for me this weekend. I booked a table at Nusr-et the same day that a video of Turkish butcher Nusret Gökçe slapping a fillet of beef into submission went viral. While the rest of the world just gets to watch his videos, Dubai’s diners get to see his 50 shades of meat in the flesh. Natalie Long, editor Since last week, I have had the worst cold ever, so I spent most of the weekend on the sofa under a blanket. Feeling sorry for myself, I cheered up and warmed up with a homemade fish pie. OK, so I didn’t make the pastry, but the rest was all my own work, and it was delicious.
