OFF-ROADING HAS BEEN ON MY things-to-learn list for a very long time but apart from going in the sand in Al Qudra, I have not found the courage to give it a try. After reading about the author’s experience I feel I will be able to do this under expert guidance. Next Gulf News Fun Drive I’m surely participating. Akash K, via email AFTER READING THE ARTICLE on Sharjah Children’s Biennial (‘Imagine. Dream. Draw.’, January 13), I realised how great an effort it is in providing little ones a platform to express the artistic side of their personality. What really surprised me was that the art these kids produce is quite mature and is not just random scribbles that I had assumed it to be. I am definitely going to visit. Suresh R., via email I HAVE TWO KIDS who have a passion for the fine arts and am looking forward to taking them to the Sharjah Children’s Biennial. It was interesting to know more about the Biennial and how it came about.
The Draw your Dream workshop does sound like a fascinating theme and I’m sure it will attract a lot of children. Aditya K., via email THE FEATURE ‘Beauty for every budget ( January 13) was really informative. Being a student, I generally don’t have money to spend on skincare but after going through the article, I realised that it need not be expensive. I could not imagine that Dh500 could buy you good quality skincare and make-up products for a year. Please do more of such stories as they are very helpful to people like us who live on a limited budget. Archana D, via email I AM A COFFEE-HOLIC and after seeing the five delicious recipes in this week’s Friday (‘Spill the beans’, January 13), I found five more reasons to love coffee. I’m not sure if I should wait until my birthday to make the divine coffee drizzle cake or give it a try right away. Can’t wait. Preeti Arora, via email BEING A FASHIONISTA I am always looking for great bargains and this week’s travel article by Friday’s fashion editor Lindsay Judge proved that New York is a great place to look for some sartorial treasures (‘Go on a fashion tour of New York’, January 13). Since I’m planning to go there for a short holiday later this year, a fashion tour is now going to be a major part of my itinerary. Just hope I have enough money to pay for all my fashion weeks. Mandy A., Dubai I COULD NOT BELIEVE THAT Cats choreographer Gillian Lynne is 90 years old and is still creatively involved in the show (‘The dance legend’, January 13). She truly is an inspiration.
