Another iconic, this time operatic, take on star-crossed lovers will play out at Dubai Opera from March 2-4, with a revival of Madame Butterfly. Joachim Herz’s production narrates the story of young Japanese woman, Cio-Cio-San (Madam Butterfly), and American naval officer Lieutenant Pinkerton in 1980s Nagasaki. Their doomed love is set to Puccini’s legendary score including the Flower Dues, Humming Chorus and Un Bel Di. Matinee shows are at 3pm and evening shows at 8pm.
