The UAE is going green this weekend as celebratio­ns for the Irish festival of St Patrick’s Day kick off. Here’s a list of events to bring you good cheer. Celebrate with a night of music and prime cuts of dry aged meat at Graze in La Ville in City Walk, Dubai. Events are taking place until March 19. Meal combo prices vary between Dh400 and Dh500.

If you’re feeling like a lucky leprechaun tonight, you could go to C.mondo bar at Centro Capital Centre Abu Dhabi where, in addition to enjoying Irish dishes, you can participat­e in a raffle to win two tickets to Yas Waterworld or Ferrari World. Also at Centro, C.taste restaurant is offering a St Patrick’s brunch today at 12.30pm, from Dh120 per person.

If you’ve been waiting for months to do an Irish jig without being laughed at, check out Saffron at Atlantis, The Palm’s St Paddy’sthemed brunch from 12.30pm – 4pm. There’ll be green decor, live cooking stations and a DJ for Dh535 per person; call 04 426 2626.

For something a little different, dig into a green shamrock-shaped burger being served at several locations in Dubai today, including Bondi at Clubhouse Al Manhal in Palm Jumeirah, Cabana at Clubhouse Azraq in Palm Jumeirah, Left Bank in Souk Madinat Jumeirah, and Après at Mall of Emirates – burgers start from Dh80. You’ll also find a green burger at Wavebreake­r at Hilton JBR today – the XL St Paddy Burger comes with three select beverages for Dh175, call 04 399 1111.

Finally, if it’s live music you’re after, head to PJ O’Reilly’s in Abu Dhabi to see Sweet Chilli Jam and DJ Simon, and enjoy games, prizes and pool fun for Dh200 per person. Call 800 10 1101. In Dubai the Irish Village in Garhoud will have live performanc­es by Ruaile Buaile, MapleJacks, and DJ Marky Mark, as well as traditiona­l music and dance today. And the party doesn’t end there; tomorrow, kids can enjoy a petting zoo, face painting and a bouncy castle at Irish Village, with free entry.
