If you’re flying to the US from now until October 15 beware of the widespread security ban on electronic devices announced last week. It affects all non-US airlines operating from 10 Middle Eastern cities including Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Airlines affected are Emirates, Qatar Airways, Etihad Airways, Egypt Air, Turkish Airlines, Royal Jordanian, Saudia Airlines, Kuwait Airways and Royal Air Maroc The ban applies to carrying an electronic device larger than a phone in the cabin. Computers, tablets, hand-held gaming consoles, DVD players, cameras and kindles will have to go in your check-in luggage. *The UK has imposed a similar electronics ban on six countries; Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt, Tunisia and Saudi Arabia.
