If you’re fly­ing to the US from now un­til Oc­to­ber 15 be­ware of the widespread se­cu­rity ban on elec­tronic de­vices an­nounced last week. It af­fects all non-US air­lines op­er­at­ing from 10 Mid­dle East­ern cities in­clud­ing Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Air­lines af­fected are Emi­rates, Qatar Air­ways, Eti­had Air­ways, Egypt Air, Turk­ish Air­lines, Royal Jor­da­nian, Sau­dia Air­lines, Kuwait Air­ways and Royal Air Maroc The ban ap­plies to car­ry­ing an elec­tronic de­vice larger than a phone in the cabin. Com­put­ers, tablets, hand-held gam­ing con­soles, DVD play­ers, cam­eras and kin­dles will have to go in your check-in lug­gage. *The UK has im­posed a sim­i­lar elec­tron­ics ban on six coun­tries; Turkey, Le­banon, Jor­dan, Egypt, Tu­nisia and Saudi Ara­bia.
