ART EXHIBITIONS

Al Ain’s Qattara Arts Centre has a Collage Exhibition featuring mixed-media artworks by 23 Emirati and UAE-based artists (below). There’ll be art presented on traditional canvas as well as digital mediums. The exhibition runs until June 15, from 5-9pm.

Another historical neighbourhood in the UAE – Al Fahidi – comes alive with art; Kay’noo’nah, a photography exhibition by Mark Pilkington (bottom), runs at Tashkeel’s House 10 until May 4. Curated by Emirati artist Hind Bin Demaithan, Kay’noo’nah (an Arabic word that represents states of being) will include print, screen and projection works that explore themes like composition of images, and how changes in landscape and interaction among the characters in a scene affect viewers’ perception.
