MYOTONIA CONGENITA
Have you heard of the fainting goat? A strange phenomena, but one that surprisingly can affect humans too. Mytonia Congenita is a rare genetic disorder that affects muscles used for movement. An abnormality of voluntary (skeletal) muscle fibre membranes causes an unusually exaggerated response to stimulation and, as a result, affected individuals have difficulty relaxing certain muscles after contracting them, muscle stiffness, and associated symptoms.
