Bigger& BETTER

Feed your hunger – without emptying your wallet! With Friday’s guide to Jumeirah Restaurant Week, you can get your fill of top food at amazing prices

-

This is the kind of maths we love: 40 fantastic restaurant offers divided into 16 meals over eight days. You couldn’t eat all the options at this year’s Jumeirah Restaurant Week by yourself – but with prices like these, you should definitely have a crack at it.

Every year, Jumeirah holds this annual celebration of its wide range of dining options – but this year, we’d say they’re celebrating the diners of the UAE and their insatiable appetites for new cuisines, glamorous dining locations and great deals. Here’s how it works: Your favourite Jumeirah restaurants, from Noodle House to Zheng He’s, The Rib Room to Tortuga, Alta Badia to Al Muntaha, create set menus showcasing their signature style, served until October 13 at very special prices – Dh95, Dh150, Dh200 and Dh350, depending on the restaurant.

For example: Do you want to have dinner at the Burj Al Arab for Dh350 a head? You can do that! Top British seafood chef Nathan Outlaw’s restaurant at the 7-star hotel, Al Mahara, is dishing up the likes of pickled oysters with jalapeño, followed by one of the world’s best fish, turbot, paired with a warm tartare sauce. Wrap things up with a dark chocolate fondant with autumn berries.

How about taking things outside and celebrating the gorgeous UAE sunshine? Book a meal at Summersalt or Rockfish – the poolside eateries at the Jumeirah Al Naseem (both Dh200), Jumeirah Zabeel Saray’s beachside grill Plaj (Dh150) or take yourself to the Greek islands with a meal at the Mina A’Salam hotel’s Shimmers (Dh150). Book as soon as you decide, because reservations get snapped up quickly! Head to jumeirah.com/restaurantweek.

We can't list them all – here’s our top picks! Dine from Dh95

Check out the newly revamped Asian soul food menu at the

Noodle House at Madinat Jumeirah or Emirates Towers – three courses will cost you Dh95, with choices of Japanese favourites such as miso tsukemen or beef ramen, and end the meal with a yummy crispy banana.

Dine from Dh150

Seeking a seekh kebab – or butter chicken? Book a spot at Amala at Jumeirah Zabeel Saray. Perhaps it's the craveable fish and chips at Jumeirah Beach Hotel's Dhow & Anchor, with its side of mushy peas? Or a classic: Steak and chips, followed by a warm salted butter caramel fudge brownie, at the Jumeirah Creekside Hotel's Nomad. These are just a few of the 23 restaurants serving Dh150 set menus – the biggest category.

Dine from Dh200

This is the price point for the carnivores: Head to The Hide, The Rib Room or La Parrilla, for flank steak with mushroom ragout; short ribs; or an Argentinian ribeye with chimichurri, respectively. Seafood lovers will be well-fed at Summersalt (tuna steak with caper berries), Pai Thai (crispy prawns with garlic, coriander and green pepper sauce) or the Burj Al Arab’s sea-facing terrace Scape (we suggest you polish off your Gillardeau oysters on the rocks with their trio of sorbets). The tableful of food served at Lebanese hotspot Al Nafoorah is also in this category: It’s kebab time!

Dine from Dh350

Go on, treat yourself – the opportunity to eat at Al Muntaha, the modern French restaurant on the 27th floor of the Burj Al Arab, doesn’t come at this price point very often. Its name means ‘The Ultimate’ in Arabic – no surprise when you see the views! Start with cured yellow tail mackerel or beef tartare with tuna ventresca, before luxurious main courses such as duo of blackmore wagyu or Dover sole. Save space for the chocolate and caramel cream salted cocoa cookies!
