LONDON’S LANGHAM HOTEL COMES TO DUBAI
London’s much-loved hotels are making their way to the UAE and we for one are not complaining – we can save on air tickets and enjoy the same quintessential British hospitality right here in Dubai. After Dukes Dubai opened its doors in March this year, The Langham Hospitality Group is set to wow Dubai with The Langham, Downtown Dubai, which will consist of a hotel and 239 fullyserviced luxury residences. While the residences will be ready to welcome occupants in 2018, the hotel itself will only open in 2020.
It’s two years away, we know, but you should still watch out for this UK export’s Dubai branch because of the legacy the brand carries – The Langham London was Europe’s first Grand Hotel when it launched in 1865 and is said to be the birthplace of the afternoon tea, plus it has housed celebrities and royalty from Sir Winston Churchill to Princess Diana and Mark Twain.
Both the hotel and residences will be situated in the Marasi development on the banks of Dubai Canal with views of the new marina on one side and the Burj Khalifa on the other.
While the iconic London property has made appearances on TV shows and the 1995 James Bond flick GoldenEye, for its classical architecture and design, the Dubai property – based on what we saw at a sneak-peek earlier this month – is a luxe chrome-and-glass marvel. That said, inside the hotel will be done up in shades of the signature Langham pink. Visit lpdubairesidences.com.
