The sixth edition of the Al Quoz Arts Fest is running at Al Serkal Avenue today and tomorrow. Take your kids and pets (yes, the four-legged friends are welcome) to the two-day, free event packed with performances, workshops, film screenings and live music by Al Quoz’s many galleries, studios, theatres and creative centres. Since this year’s edition focuses on performance and movement, visitors will be treated to a contemporary dance adaptation of Spanish play House of Bernarda Alba by Sima Performing Arts, screenings of dance films by Beirut Contemporary Ballet and dance workshops by Dubai Dance Community group and dance artist Jens Bjerregaard. You can also dabble in a variety of diametrically different workshops such as cushionmaking and concrete design. Those with kids and pets in tow should make a pitstop at The Happy Studio’s emoji ball pit and Shampooch’s mobile pet grooming van. The Good Vibes Market will have food trucks parked in the back of Al Quoz Avenues for nibbles. From 10am-10pm; visit alserkalavenue.ae.

After nourishing your mind with creativity, give your body some TLC at Dubai Festival City’s new farmer’s market – starting tomorrow, the Organic Souk will run every Saturday from 8am-2pm, offering shoppers farm-fresh produce as well as entertainment and activities by the creek. Food trucks and a mini petting zoo with ducks, chickens and rabbits complete the wholesomeness. Visit facebook.com/dubaifestivalcity.
