Indian DJ Nucleya takes to the decks at Nasimi Beach, Atlantis The Palm tonight to celebrate Indian Republic Day. The gig called Nucleya: Sub Cinema ,isa special edition of the Red Bull Music Presents series and will feature the DJ’s unique fusion of EDM and traditiona­l Indian instrument­s – think hits like Tamil Fever and Bass Rani – and includes an audio-visual display. He’ll be backed by DJ Mark Shakedown, DJ Jeff and Varun Sharma. Tickets from Dh100 per person at platinumli­st.net; from 7pm-2am. On February 1, things take a Swiss turn with a concert by Swiss pop-rock band Pegasus (below). The concert is part of the Swiss Embassy’s Swiss Days 2018

Arabic Alternativ­e Music Festival at d3 on February 2. The day-long festival that celebrates alternativ­e and contempora­ry Arabic music is back for a second edition; this time Egyptian rock band Cairokee, alternativ­e Lebanese singer-songwriter­visual artist Tania Saleh and France-based Algerian band Gnawa Diffusion (bottom), known for their mix of reggae music, will bring the roof down.
