Pursuing a passion

I always wonder what exactly my dream job should be as I am passionate just about every field. Seeing my father who has continually worked in multinational companies, I too dream of working under a big brand and becoming a team leader in the field of Finance. That, I guess, is what interests me the most. Sanika Dixit

ADDING VALUE

As a mathematics teacher, my passion is to teach this subject in an interesting, funfilled way. I derive great pleasure when my students relate their learning with real life. My dream job is to become a teacher trainer and translate this interest and passion of mine across the world. I would love to see children learning the subject in an enjoyable, fear-free environment. Beena Jyothis

Fashion forward

My dream job is becoming a fashion designer. I have always loved wearing new dresses, art and things that involve creativity. Another dream of mine is to work with designers such as Michael Cinco or Manish Malhotra.

SHAPING LIVES

Even though by profession I am an electrical engineer, I love teaching. That is my passion. I always believe teaching is a noble profession and a good teacher is like a candle – consuming oneself to light the way for others. I am getting a few opportunities to work as a coach in some camps to train children and I completely enjoy that. To me, teaching is not merely subject oriented, but should also focus on the overall development of a child especially to improve life, social and motor skills, and leadership qualities. I believe Emotional Quotient (EQ) is more important than IQ for the overall development of a child. In short, my dream job is to become a trainer who can touch the lives of others. Reena Shebeaun

Writing a new chapter

My dreams have changed over the years and I believe that it is never too late to have dreams. At 5, I wanted to be an actress, at 17 a detective and after graduation, I pursued a career in what I qualified in – hospitality – and still enjoy working in that field. The only thing that hasn’t changed is my love for reading and writing. Writing will be an ultimate dream come true.

BUILDING DREAMS

My dream job is to be an architect. I would call this a vocation because I want to design luxurious homes at affordable prices. Many think that only people who have a lot of money only can have luxurious houses. I would design houses the way people want them, and wouldn’t charge much. This is my dream job.

Notes to self

Everyone in my family has been a journalist or has aspired to be one. I fell in love with writing and reporting since I turned six. I want to become a successful and creative journalist. I want to make my great grandfather, who I have never seen, proud of the fifth generation journalist in the family. Ananya Govindrao Naik

FEEDING MY DREAM

My dream job is to set up a restaurant. Having qualified as a software engineer and working as a human resource professional seems quite strange for some, and many ask me if I’ve not yet reached my dream job. My father heads a chain of restaurants owned by a co-operative society in India. It started small and is now growing bigger. I always dreamt to be like my father. Starting a restaurant is no way easy. The hard work, grit, and determination that my father has put in to build the business is truly amazing and acts as an inspiration for me to pursue my dream job. After a year or two, I alongwith my husband, plan to start a food business in Dubai, under my father’s guidance.

My dream job would be to be involved in an extensive amount of teamwork, such as regular team meetings and group projects. I love this kind of job that emphasises communication among colleagues, and between management and team members.

A dream job is one that combines one’s passion and provides the money. Mine is to be the host of a television show where I can travel the world and showcase both visual as well as gourmet feasts. Title of my show: Tantalising trysts! Vijaya Sukumar
