MY DAUGHTER GETS CHRONIC HEADACHES

-

Q My daughter is 19 years old and has been having chronic headaches followed by vomiting for three years. We have been seeing regular doctors but it still persists.

A Based on the description, your daughter’s condition sounds like the symptoms of a classic migraine. Headaches with or without aura followed by vomiting, and if this is aggravated by bright lights, are common symptoms. There are more symptoms, but these can be discussed by meeting with your practitioner.

What is very important to understand is that although many people can exhibit similar symptoms such as headaches, the triggers or causative factors are individual. For example, some get aches due to prolonged exposure to the sun, others due to extended time spent in front of laptops and mobiles with maximum brightness, and others can experience pain due to hormonal releases before and during menses, while for some it can just be due to stress.

A common theory that homeopathy practitioners believe in is that if you “treat the cause, the effect will go by itself”.

I would recommend that you see a good homeopathic practitioner who would take a detailed history and prescribe what we call a ‘genetic constitutional remedy’ which when taken will help the body to go back to its healthiest state.

I can mention a few common remedies, however, the best way is to get personal advice so that the right remedy can be selected that is specific to your daughter’s needs and help her be free from headaches.
