As the UAE decks up for Eid Al Adha, here’s a long list of things for your family to do this long weekend, from gazing up in awe at fireworks, to being entertaine­d to the hilt with an array of shows, performanc­es and concerts.

The Galleria on Al Maryah Island in Abu Dhabi is kicking off Eid Al Adha celebratio­ns from August 20-24 with Ayyalah performanc­es, personalis­ed Arabic calligraph­y samples and sand bottle art. From 3pm-9pm.

In Dubai, The Beach (above) will ramp up Eid celebratio­ns with dining, shopping and entertainm­ent deals topped by a spectacula­r fireworks display at 8.30pm on all three days.

At Al Seef, Eid revelries kick off at 6pm daily from August 22-24 August with dance sessions, workshops, life-sized board games and photo booths, as well as roaming entertainm­ent.

While you roam around City Walk, wandering performanc­es from Ukrainian group Crazy Drummers and the Black and White, a mix of juggling, acrobatics, magic, dance and pantomime will keep you amused from August 21-24, from 4pm-10pm. DSS mascot Modhesh’s sunny visage will make an appearance for his kiddie fans on August 22.

Across the creek, Dubai Festival City too is pulling out all the stops for a memorable Eid Al Adha – twice the explosive fun awaits with two sets of fireworks displays over two consecutiv­e days at 9pm and 10.30pm; for kids live song and dance show Pinkfong and Baby Shark will make its UAE debut with performanc­es at 5pm and 8pm on August 24 and 25. Roaming entertaine­rs will flit around Festival City every few hours and the destinatio­n’s popular multimedia show, Imagine, will play out daily from 7.30pm.

Dragon Mart 2 is set to entertain with popular characters from Iftah Ya Sim Sim (Arabic Sesame Street) in an interactiv­e, spacetheme­d show from August 23- September 3. Emirati crooner Balqees will regale audiences with a free concert at 7.30pm, mesmerisin­g crowds with hits such as Ya Hawa and Mainoun.

Bollywood singer Sunidhi Chauhan (top right) will be in concert at the Dubai World Trade Centre on August 24 at 8pm. Known for her catchy pop and film tunes, she will entertain the crowd starting 8pm onwards, guaranteei­ng an unforgetta­ble Eid experience. Tickets can be purchased from Dubai Calendar at a starting price of Dh75.
