ON THE ROAD

In 1997, my friend and I, just 21 years old at the time, decided to go on a 250km road trip in the southern Indian state of Karnataka. Travelling by bus, autorickshaws, scooters and even bullock carts, we enjoyed the scenic landscape and food from the roadside eateries. Reaching our destination after sunset, we found there were no lights there due to an electricity problem. Armed with candles and torchlights, we spent the night reliving our experiences.
