Laughter, twice daily

-

Flu season is almost upon us – can you hear the sniffles? But we’ve got your back with the best medicine there is – laughter. Today.

The Laughter Factory is bringing comedians Angelo Tsarouchas, Yuriko Kotani and Paul Thorne (left) at the Jumeirah Island Clubhouse. Tsarouchas, the Canadian actor of Greek origin who has acted in Madmen and Fred and Vinnie, will bring punchlines steeped in hilarious Greek references and cultural idiosyncrasies that saw him touring with comedy giants such as Russell Peters and Vince Vaughn. Cultural quirks follow with UK-based Japanese comedian Yuriko Kotani’s stand-up that dissects Japanese culture and mannerisms. And British comedian Paul Thorne’s satirical humour and quirky songs inspired by topical events will add music to your tears (of laughter). Tickets from Dh150, laughterfactory.com; show starts at 7pm.

Indian comic Daniel Fernandes (right) brings his boisterous brand of humour to The Junction at Al Serkal Avenue with Shadows, part of Comic On Nights, a series of comedy shows. The jokes get dark, murky and unapologetically funny. Alfaaz Manghnani will host, with opening performances by awardwinning comedians Varun Bhatia and Sundeep Fernandes. From Dh75, platinumlist.net; show starts at 8pm.
