If I Just Had Two Wings

If I Just Had Two Wings by Virginia Frances Schwartz is a story set on an Alabama cotton plantation. Phoebe’s staunch determination to flee remains undaunted despite previous futile attempts proving that dreaming big and staying determined empowers us to surpass all barriers. Khushboo Rathod

Secrets of a millionaire

The one book that has impacted me the most is Secrets of the Millionaire Mind by T. Harv Eker. The book highlights how one should get out of their comfort zone by doing things that involve meaning, learning and taking certain risks, to get where one aspires to be. It also talks about the difference in thought between the rich and the poor. This book has made me understand to love and appreciate money, including the value it holds. Gayatri Ramchandran

I Am Malala

The most inspirational book I’ve read is Malala Yousafzai’s I Am Malala. It tells the moving story of how she spoke up for children’s rights to education at a young age in a small town in Pakistan. She continues to speak up and inspire the world. Zehra Bughio

FACTFULNESS

Hans Rosling’s book opened my eyes to the progress in the world during my lifetime. The world has dramatically improved in key parameters like child mortality and female literacy, but we mostly think otherwise. It proves that consistent efforts bear results. I would advise everyone to read this book to balance our worldview and to start believing again in the power of good. Ahmed Anwar

One Little Finger

A book that affected me was One Little Finger, the autobiography of Malini Chib, a woman who defied all odds to emerge victorious in spite of a crippling disability. Anjali Ravindran

My journal

I am a bookworm by nature and I find value in every book I read. It has impacted me in one or the other way. But the book that has changed my life is my own journal book, which reminds me of what I have achieved, where I am today and what goals I have set for myself for the future. Of late, I find Friday magazine motivating. The diverse information on fun activities, food and other topics are quite interesting. Suja Harish

The Secret

I first read this book when I was 18, and I still continue to read it. This book taught me about the Law Of Attraction, and how you can achieve all your dreams. Since then, I apply the teachings to almost all aspects of my life, and it has helped me change my life. Himani Vashdev Jaisinghani

THE BHAGAVAD GITA

The Bhagavad Gita is not just a scripture but a manual for living life. It has taught me the real purpose of life, how to live life and what our duty is. It changed my perception of life as I realise what is really important and what is the relationship between body, soul and the Almighty. Neha Shah

EXAM WARRIORS

I am a student and always have to juggle between life and studies. My exams have started and I find the book Exam Warriors by Narendra Modi very interesting and calming. This book helps you to smile while entering the examination hall and have an even bigger smile when exiting the hall.

This book is not only for students, as life tests everyone with challenges. It has empowered me to stay calm and patient through every step of my life. Prisha Shah

Malala’s fight

My favourite book is I am Malala as it shows the story of a young girl who surpasses all obstacles and challenges in life and did whatever she could do get her message out.

Her story is one of inspiration, courage and perseverance. It imparts important lessons on grit and determination. Zoya Asma Khan LAND OF STORIES I find Land of Stories by Chris Colfer the most captivating. The story line is very engaging and a great way to review fairy tales. It revolves around two kids who get into a book and interact with their most loved characters from story books. I found it so imaginative and descriptive that I felt I was there.

Harry Potter

Back in 2016 my mum and I fought in a bookstore – I wanted a Thea Stilton book while my mom wanted me to try reading Harry Potter. I did. And this book changed my perspective about the world, about friendship, passion, bravery, and some decisions I might have to make. It’s not just a book, it’s a whole new world. Ananya Govindrao Naik

Reclaim Your Heart

Yasmin Mogahed’s Reclaim Your Heart affected me the most. It’s an eye-opening book that changed my perspective on life. It’s about freeing yourself from the illusions and deceits of life as we know it. A must-read. Mohaddesa Meherali
