LIFELONG LOTTERY

I think that having a perfect job is greater than winning a lottery. One won’t require a lottery while having the perfect job, whereas the opposite cannot be true. Moreover, winning a jackpot will provide you with money only for a single instance, while having a perfect job will provide you a regular source of income for the rest of your life. So, work hard to provide yourself with a lifelong lottery. Riddhi Amit Khandelwal

CHILDHOOD DREAMS

I’d go for the lottery, because the perfect job is much harder to get. After that, I will use the prize money to do the jobs I dreamt of doing as a kid – from selling flowers to flying airplanes. Jiss Jose

LASTING JOY

Definitely the ‘perfect job’. You call something perfect when it brings you happiness and satisfaction. Winning a lottery may bring you materialistic happiness, but would this last? If I love the job I do, and if it brings a steady income, I think I would be happy and content with that. Athulya Vijay

COME EASY, GO EASY

I would get the perfect job instead of a lottery: The perfect job will give meaning to life, and it will enable you to utilise all your skills and to widen your horizons. The perfect job will make you a perfect human being as well, by keeping you aware about the environment, and by satisfying your creativity! Even after winning the lottery, you’d have to fill your days with something. Anything (like a lottery) that comes in easily, will go away easily too!. Supirya Kulkarni

LEVERAGE

To have a perfect job will be a dream come true, but the satisfaction won’t stay for a long time. Yes, I would prefer a perfect job for myself, but I want to create it, rather than having it. Winning a lottery can make my work easier and faster. Money is freedom. My perfect job would be having enough money to fund socialand community-based start-up enterprises and supporting them to succeed following my investment. I need the lottery win to do that. I’m sure that I’m not going to do it through my day job earnings. Lamiya Siraj

MANAGING FINANCES

A perfect job is equivalent to winning the lottery. It brings in joy, sustains passion and facilitates growth. Being in the right job redefines your identity, boosts your enthusiasm and helps you spread knowledge and build talented communities. Winning a lottery is overwhelming if you are unsure about managing finances. Parvathy Jayachandran

REGULAR INCOME

Winning a lottery won’t guarantee you success and fame – it will vanish within weeks, trying to quench our desire to spend. However, having a perfect job would provide you with income for the rest of your life, and will also ensure your happiness. Advita Prabhu

PEACE OF MIND

They say that money can buy everything, but I feel that peace of mind is something that cannot be bought by it. Having a perfect job is a win-win situation – you get paid for your skill and attain peace of mind and fulfilment of your soul. So, I feel that having a perfect job is more rewarding than winning the lottery, in the long run. Reaba Rebecca Thomas

ALREADY HAVE THE PERFECT JOB

It translates to whether I believe in luck or hard work. Luck isn’t in my control, but hard work is – ergo, I’d prefer to work hard than to rely on luck. Again, the perfect job is the right combination of personal reward, organisational support and role contribution. That way, considering I already have the perfect job (do you hear me gloat?), I wouldn’t mind winning a lottery one of these days. Ranjan Matthew

A MATTER OF AGE

If I was younger and free to jump around, my answer probably would have been to win a lottery. But today, at 50, when I’m a bit wiser, I would settle for the perfect job, which will last longer than the lottery win. Pratik Das

MONEY IS A NUMBER

The perfect job. Winning a lottery is a lucky clover, but money can’t buy you happiness. The perfect job won’t feel like work, because you will be extremely passionate about it. Money is a number, and numbers never end – if it takes money for you to be happy, your search for happiness will never end. As once said, “Happiness is not in the mere possession of money; it lies in the joy of achievement, in the thrill of creative effort.” Munazzah Muhammad

A QUEST FOR MEANING

Money alone never made anyone happy! One’s life becomes meaningful when you enjoy what you do and taste success. I wouldn’t trade a perfect job for some easy money. It’s unimaginable to be living a life of inactivity, simply enjoying all that money can buy. I enjoy the strife and struggle of a simple life, and the endeavour to perfect my job! Sheeba Jojo

DIGNITY

I’d have the perfect job, because I want to earn my living, rather than have someone hand it over to me without me working hard. Eva Jimmy Mathew

DOES IT EXIST?

From my experience, a perfect job doesn’t exist. With a decent prize money, I could plan my early retirement and throw workrelated stress out of my life. I could live with my parents, go on a world tour, and spend the rest of my life lavishly, without thinking about tomorrow. Vivek Gupta
