Neil Wilson

Commercial facilitati­on provider Links Group has appointed Neil Wilson as the country manager of its Qatar division. The appointmen­t comes during a period of increased demand from foreign investors looking to establish a commercial presence in Qatar. Wilson has more than 13 years of experience in successful­ly establishi­ng companies in new markets. As well as developing the business he will oversee the day-today operations of the company. Sony Mobile has appointmed Hirokazu Ishizuka as its Middle East and Africa vice president. His appointmen­t is part of the restructur­ing process of the company's global sales division. This has removed regional layers and will see him lead the MEA division directly. Ishizuka has been with Sony for the past 13 years and was previously chief vice president of global sales where he was responsibl­e for sales, consumer retention and strategic partner support.

Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem

Dubai-based ports operator DP World has appointed its chairman Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem to the post of chief executive officer. Sulayem has replaced long-serving chief executive Mohammed Sharaf, who retired in February. The company said that Sulayem will perform the duties and functions of both chairman and chief executive simultaneo­usly.

Richard Alexander

Luxury hotel chain Jumeirah Group has selected Richard Alexander as general manager of Jumeirah Al Naseem, Madinat Jumeirah and the Arabian Resort in Dubai. Alexander has more than 31 years of experience in the luxury hotel and tourism industry. He returns to the Jumeirah Group eight years after his previous role with the company as general manager at Jumeirah Mina A’Salam. In his new role, the British national will oversee the opening of Jumeirah Al Naseem, which is expected to launch this summer.
