Philip Ashkuri
Insurance brokerage Nexus Group has appointed Phil Ashkuri as the head of general insurance for the Gulf Cooperation Council region. Ashkuri has nearly three decades of experience in the global and regional market and will oversee the commercial and personal lines of the business for Nexus Group. He has held senior positions across several insurance and financial services firms including American International Group (AIG), the insurance arms at HSBC and general insurance division of the Bank of Ireland.
Mike Song
Car manufacturer Hyundai has appointed Mike Song as its new head of the Middle East and Africa region. Operating from the firm’s regional headquarters in Dubai, Song will oversee operations throughout the MENA region as well as Sub-Saharan Africa and the Canary Islands. Song joined Hyundai in 1993 and has risen through the ranks, most recently heading the Asia-Pacific and Middle East group. In his new role, Song plans to further the company’s sales in the region, strengthen its network of distributors and make strides in its engineering and design.
Lutfi Zakhour
Booz Allen Hamilton – a global consulting and technology firm – has elected Lutfi Zakhour as its senior vice president in a bid to boost its Middle East and North Africa division. Zakhour will take charge of the financial and digital consulting businesses of the company. He will focus on expanding the company and addressing new demands from clients in terms of efficiency, sustainability and digitisation. Zakhour is a graduate from INSEAD, one of the world’s leading business schools.
Massimo Fatato
International open source software solution company Red Hat has named Massimo Fatato as vice president of its telecommunications business. His role will cover Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Fatato will work to broaden the company’s portfolio and deliver improved operational, economic and innovative benefits to EMEA customers. In particular he will support network equipment and communications service providers with a set of new initiatives. Prior to joining Red Hat, Fatato worked in senior executive positions at HP, Cisco and Accenture.
