One of the most well known businesswomen in the region, Maha Al Ghunaim is the vice chairperson and group CEO of Global Investment House. After co-founding the firm in 1998, she later helped it become the first Kuwaiti firm to list on the London Stock Exchange. She also oversaw the restructuring of GIH after the financial crisis. In 2016, her company acquired one of the largest quick service restaurant managers in the GCC, the Yum Yum Tree restaurants chain, completed several exits and distributed more than $25m to clients despite a challenging economic environment.
