Previously the face of CNN International’s monthly show Inside

the Middle East, Gorani serves as the Arab world’s voice in the international media landscape. Based in London, the Syrian journalist has covered most of the major news events in the Middle East, including the Syrian refugee crisis in Lebanon in 2014, the Egyptian elections in 2012 and the Arab Spring revolution. Currently anchoring the show The World Right Now, Gorani has reported from every country in the Middle East including Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Jordan and the Palestinian territories. She was also awarded a News and Documentary Emmy for the network's coverage of the 2011 Egyptian revolution that led to the ousting of the country's then president, Hosni Mubarak.
