Nick Witty Zach Finkelstein
Dubai-based ridehailing service Careem has appointed former Lumia Capital co-founder Zach Finkelstein as its vice president of corporate development. Finkelstein will look to accelerate the company’s growth through strategic partnerships and investments across the Middle East, North Africa, Turkey and Pakistan region. While at Silicon Valley’s Lumia Capital, Finkelstein was responsible for investment sourcing, due diligence and portfolio company management. He also participated in Lumia’s investment in Careem. Property firm Chestertons has named Nick Witty as its managing director, overseeing operations in the Middle East and North Africa. Witty brings more than 29 years of experience to the role, having worked across various aspects of the real estate industry, including acquisition and disposal, development feasibility, facilities and property management, leasing, marketing and valuation. He has been based in the Middle East since 1998, including five years in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Mamoun Abdullah
Zyxel Communications has revealed Mamoun Abdullah as its new general manager and head of channel for the Middle East. Prior to joining the broadband networking company Abdullah worked with Unify Middle East, FVC Distributor, Exclusive Networks and Mindware Distributor. He is expected to lead the firm’s efforts to establish itself as the most channel-friendly company, as well as implementing strategies aimed at increasing effectiveness of marketing and communications.
John Farrelly
John Farrelly has been appointed as multiproperty director of sales and marketing for St Regis Dubai, W Dubai Al Habtoor City, and The Westin Dubai Al Habtoor City. He joins Al Habtoor from Marriott International, for which he held many roles including a key position as part of the pre-opening team of JW Marriott Marquis in Dubai. Before joining Al Habtoor In 2015 he was Marriott’s country director of sales and marketing for the UAE.
