Christina Van Houten
Email and data security company Mimecast has announced the appointment of Christina Van Houten as its new chief strategy officer. Van Houten will drive corporate development, product management and market strategy and build out the company’s email security, archive, and cyber resilience cloud platform. During an enterprise technology industry career spanning more than two decades, Van Houten has worked with Oracle, IBM and Infor Global Solutions, among others, as well as public interest organisations in the US.
Gary Miller
Following the launch of its cybersecurity hub in Dubai, Thales has named Gary Miller its vice president for cybersecurity in the Middle East. Miller brings to the role more than 15 years of expertise in cyber and technology for startups and multinational companies, and was previously managing director of Thales Cyber and Consulting UK. He will be responsible for leading his team to deliver products, systems and consulting services to existing and new clients across the group’s portfolio in the region.
Aly Shariff
Aly Shariff has been appointed to the role of chief operating officer with Citymax Hotels – the hospitality division of Landmark Group. With almost 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Shariff will be responsible for operations and the development of the Citymax Hotel brand. Prior to joining the group, Shariff spent 17 years at Whitbread plc, the UK’s largest hospitality company, including more than a decade developing and operating their Premier Inn brand in India and South East Asia.
Stevan Stefaniuk
Fairmont The Palm has named Stevan Stefaniuk as hotel manager, drawing on 16 years of experience in the hospitality industry – all with Fairmont Hotels internationally. Starting out in 2002 as restaurant manager at the groupmanaged Calgary Eau Claire in Canada, Stefaniuk was most recently hotel manager at Fairmont Dubai, where he managed the 600-room property for two years. In his new role, he will oversee the overall resort operations, performance of each department and support the wider strategy of Fairmont The Palm.
Dr Helmut Reisinger
Orange Business Services has elevated Dr Helmut Reisinger to the role of chief executive officer, taking over from Thierry Bonhomme, who becomes special advisor to the chairman and CEO of Orange before retirement later this year. Most recently, Dr Reisinger was executive vice president, international, at the company; in charge of all international enterprise business activities, excluding France. As CEO he will direct the company strategy to support the digital transformation of enterprise customers around the world.
Maria Fe Rusiana Cerchi
Swissôtel Al Ghurair and Swissôtel Living Al Ghurair – twin properties connected through the Al Ghurair Centre shopping mall – have appointed Maria Fe Rusiana Cerchi as director of recreation and spa. Having started her career in the Philippines as a skin and figure consultant, Cerchi went on to run a large chain of independent wellness recreation centres. She has worked with leading brands during the past decade including Al Habtoor Group, Mövenpick Hotels and Resorts, and Rotana Hotels and Resorts.
