AMEER ABDUL GHANI DAIRI
Bahrain Islamic Bank has announced the appointment of Ameer Abdul Ghani Dairi as chief financial officer. The leading provider of integrated Islamic banking solutions in the kingdom promoted Dairi from his role in the bank’s department of financial supervision, which he joined in 2007. He also sits as a board member of the Liquidity Management Centre and Adaad Real Estate Company, and has help financial management roles at a number of commercial banks in Bahrain.
MAHA KHAMIS AL MEZEINA
Maha Khamis Al Mezeina has been appointed by Dubai Future Foundation as director of Area 2071 – an interactive platform that targets initiatives for the future. A graduate of the UAE Government Leaders Programme, Al Mezeina has worked with Dubai Future Accelerators, Museum of the Future, and Dubai Future Academy, as well as in the Prime Minister’s Office in the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs and the Future. She will oversee the management and implementation of projects and initiatives for the platform.
FRED CASTONGUAY
UAE-based global port operator Gulftainer has appointed Fred Castonguay as its new group chief operating officer as it looks to strengthen its growing portfolio. Castonguay has held several international positions over two decades, including vice president of operations at Ports America Group, and president and COO for Ports America Outer Harbour in Oakland, California. Castonguay will be expected to steer Gulftainer into its next phase of strategic expansion.
MICHEL CHECOURY
Kerzner International Holdings – owner of Atlantis Resort and Residences and One&Only Resorts brands worldwide – has named Michel Checoury as its new chief financial officer. In a career spanning 30 years, Checoury has worked in roles across audit, finance and financial management, and was most recently CFO at Movenpick Hotels & Resorts, overseeing 85 properties in 27 countries. He will help Kerzner focus on accelerating the growth of its brands.
