From golf clubs to perfume to movie production, president of The Royal Lifestyle Corp, Jack Charles, explains why he’s bringing his multifacet­ed company to the UAE

You have a rich career history that includes engineerin­g, golfing, and acting. How did this path prepare you to form The Royal Lifestyle Corp?

I went to college and played golf, ran on the track team, and studied engineerin­g and drama. I also played in several stage plays while in college and had fun creating characters different then myself.

I was interested how things were made, and after college I worked in engineerin­g for four years and loved it. While working as an engineer, I played golf before and after work and at the weekend, this helped keep my golf game in very good shape.

I eventually got tired of working indoors all the time and decided to try profession­al golf. This was fun, but I just got tired of living out of a suitcase so decided to try to become an actor, writer and producer. So I set off to Hollywood to see what would happen.

Because of my golfing and acting ability, I wrote and hosted several TV commercial­s for various auto companies, and was invited to played as a celebrity, in charity golf tournament­s all over the US.

Among your business ventures, you have designed and launched a range of golf clubs. What makes your clubs different to those already on the market?

If you are an actor, you had better have something else to do, because you are not going to work all the time. So I decided to design a line of golf clubs, using the ball-bearing as the main selling point. I remembered from my engineerin­g days that energy is magnified as it comes out through the surface of the bearing – like hitting a nail with a hammer.

I named this line of clubs after a movie I wrote called John Jumano, and our driver in this line of clubs – named The Only One – is fast getting a reputation as one of the world’s longest hitting golf clubs.

Why have you set your sights on the UAE with these clubs and other business lines? What makes it such an appealing market for your company?

I have made four or five trips to the UAE and have been impressed each time – this place is just amazing. The golf courses are the best, the hotels are the best, and the people are just the best.

What are your ambitions for The Royal Lifestyle Corp? What is your growth strategy for the coming months and years?

My wife is a Roman Countess, Donatella Pecci Blunt. She has developed a super perfume fragrance called DiableAu

Corps, which will be very popular here in the UAE. As well as being ready to go in this part of the world, the TV commercial­s are produced to run in Europe, and the US. I would like very much to make The Royal Lifestyle a super profitable company. We have no debts, all the products are developed and tested to ensure they are items people love. As well as the movie scripts being ready to go into production, the golf club commercial­s are all produced and broadcast ready. With our promotion abilities, this product should be one of the top in the world in the next year or two. With all the major work being done, and our offerings all ready to go, I am keen to speak with potential partners and investors to really help take The Royal Lifestyle to the next level.
