Asaleswoman has been acquitted of trespassing into a businessman’s residence and threatening to kill him if he did not repay the Dh150,000 she had lent him earlier.

The 33-year-old Chinese saleswoman, Z.H., was cleared of entering the Jordanian businessman’s villa without his permission and threatening to kill him over the money following a heated argument in October.

Citing lack of corroborated and insufficient evidence, the Dubai Court found Z.H. innocent after she pleaded not guilty and firmly refuted the accusation of threatening and trespassing.

According to the primary judgement, the court dismissed the civil lawsuit that the Jordanian claimant had lodged against the Chinese.

He sought Dh21,000 in temporary compensation against his alleged damages.

The 36-year-old businessman, B.M., alleged before the court that Z.H. walked into his residence in Mirdif at 9pm.

“She came inside without permission … she shouted at me. Then I called my brother and asked him to discuss the issue with the defendant. She was very angry and she wanted us to repay the money,” B.M. claimed in his testimony.

Meanwhile, his 31-year-old brother claimed to prosecutors that the suspect rang the bell and walked into the villa without being permitted.

“My brother asked me to go to his place. The defendant was very angry … she went into the kitchen and walked out with a knife in her hand. She threatened to kill me if I did not give her back the money,” claimed the brother.

‘Heated argument’

A Jordanian witness claimed that he escorted Z.H. to the businessman’s villa to help her claim her money.

“They had a heated argument before B.M. tried to assault her. Then when the brother arrived, he provoked her verbally before she stormed into the kitchen, took a knife and tried to assault him,” testified the witness.

The saleswoman firmly refuted what she described as fabricated allegations.
