There are more than 200 vacancies now on mJobs launched yesterday with 18 government departments on board

Job seekers can now look for suitable vacancies and apply for Dubai Government jobs through a single app — mJobs — that was launched by Dubai Smart Government (DSG) yesterday.

Currently, 18 government departments are on board with more than 200 jobs up for grabs. The app is open for all residents and citizens of the UAE who can register and apply for suitable jobs at respective departments.

Another 40 Dubai Government entities and departments are expected to post their vacancies through mJobs in the next phase.

“We are trying to get all government departments on board, allowing people access to all job vacancies in the Government of Dubai on a single window. This is designed to make the government more accessible to people and make them happy,” said Ahmad Bin Humaidan, DSG Director-General.

Arabic, English interfaces

mJobs is the latest milestone in the implementation of the smart government and smart city initiatives of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, who launched the programme to transform all applicable government services into smart services by May.

The application is currently available on App Store and will be available soon on other mobile platforms. “mJobs is a smart app for locating government jobs in Dubai through smart devices. It enables fresh graduates or experienced professionals to register for free, search for job vacancies in 18 Dubai government entities that have so far joined the app and at the same time apply for the job,” said Bin Humaidan.

The app also enables applicants to log in using Facebook and share job vacancies with friends through multiple channels.

Applicants can upload profiles, CVs and photos through Dropbox and other smart apps and keep track of their application status.

“This app is a realisation of Shaikh Mohammad’s vision of providing a single platform for multiple services. It is in line with the theme of offering connected smart services as per our DSG Strategy 2014-2017 ... It is simple and easy to use, with special focus given to the happiness and satisfaction of people,” he added.

Enhance competitiveness

Bin Humaidan pointed out that the new app would effectively contribute to enhancing the competitiveness of Dubai on all international indices, enabling it to become the smartest government regionally and globally.

The mJobs app was developed by the Government Resources Planning Systems Department at DSG.

The app has both Arabic and English interfaces and users who are currently registered with DSG’s eJob portal www. ejob.ae can synchronise their existing account on mJobs.

Job vacancies can be searched for by department, publication date, categories and keywords. Vacancies can also be added to job basket to view and apply later.

“Government entities can use this shared service instead of creating their own, while jobseekers can use the app instead of approaching each entity separately. These types of smart services fulfil our objective of bringing happiness to people,” said Bin Humaidan.
