Sharjah Ruler provides data for Census 2015
Officials say Dr Shaikh Sultan’s decision will encourage residents to cooperate with census
His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, provided his data to Sharjah Census 2015 in support of the project and to encourage residents to cooperate with the census teams.
The information was collected by Shaikh Mohammad Bin Abdullah Al Thani, Chairman of the Higher Committee for Sharjah Census 2015 and Chairman of the Department of Statistics and Community Development (DSCD), and Shaikh Mohammad Bin Humaid Al Qasimi, Director of DSCD, as well as members of the census team, during a visit to Al Badea Palace, as part of the counting phase.
The Sharjah Census 2015 was launched to collect statistical information to help decision-makers and organisations draw up plans to support development and advancement of the emirate.
Shaikh Mohammad Al Thani thanked Dr Shaikh Sultan for providing his personal data, adding that he hoped it would motivate everyone in the emirate to participate in the project and cooperate with staff and researchers. He praised the support given to the Sharjah Census 2015 project by Dr Shaikh Sultan and for his continued guidance on the necessary requirements for the successful implementation of the census.
Meanwhile, the Higher Committee for the Sharjah Consultative Council elections has extended the registration period for electoral colleges to December 19.
The registration deadline was set at December 17.
