Al Qah’tani sets aside business deals to finish his education

Saudi millionair­e Ghaidan Al Qah’tani feels it is never too late to go back to school and resume studies.

The 48-year-old man said that he started attending literacy classes in a bid to finish his formal education and graduate.

Al Qah’tani, who is keen on taking advantage of every available opportunit­y, is also attending a morning preparator­y class for sixth graders ahead of going to middle school.

In a video clip that was circulated on Saudi social media, he said that he was pleased with the support he found at all levels.

He said that he had no issues setting aside his profession­al preoccupat­ions to attend classes with students the age of his own children.

“I am so motivated to learn and finish off my formal education that I do not mind leaving behind me deals worth millions in order to attend school,” he said.

“I am grateful to all, especially the school staff, for their motivation and encouragem­ent.”

Always willing to learn

Al Qah’tani said that he added to his language abilities and honed his computer skills in class.

Social users applauded Al Qah’tani for his courage and determinat­ion, and the fact that he felt no shame admitting he needed to further his education despite his millions.

Those who said they knew him lauded his honesty and his simplicity.
