Court ejects BJP lawmaker from parliament

local court in Bihar yesterday cancelled the Lok Sabha membership of BJP parliamentarian Chhedi Paswan for hiding facts about past criminal convictions in his poll affidavit filed before the Election Commission.

Paswan is a Lok Sabha MP from Sasaram seat in Bihar. The Patna High Court yesterday issued the order while hearing a complaint petition filed by one Ganga Mishra. In his petition, Mishra accused Paswan of concealing a criminal case in his poll affidavit filed before the EC at the time of filing of nomination papers. (Staff Report)
