Revenue official arrested for taking bribe

revenue official (patwari) was arrested for allegedly taking a bribe from a citizen for attestation of property documents.

Zahid Iqbal, a resident of Nona Kahuta, had lodged a complaint with the AntiCorruption Establishment Rawalpindi that the official, Faisal, was demanding Rs100,000 from him to attest a land transfer deed.

An anti-corruption team raided a location and caught the revenue official redhanded. The team also recovered the currency notes from him. Further investigation is under way. (Online)
