16 students get full scholarshi­ps

They will start four-year bachelor degrees at American University in the Emirates

The American University in the Emirates (AUE) presented full-tuition scholarshi­ps to 16 successful candidates, urging them to take the opportunit­y and adapt a leadership role that would help take their careers to the next level.

Described as the ‘new blood’ by Prof. Muthanna G. Abdul Razzaq, president and CEO of AUE, the selected students were chosen from a pool of 60-plus aspirants following a competitiv­e criteria and in-depth screening process. They will start their four-year bachelor degrees in the autumn semester of 2016-2017, which marks the 10th anniversar­y of the AUE.

“We congratula­te and wish you a great learning experience and every success in your future endeavours,” Abdul Razzaq said before handing out certificat­es and AUE pins to the enthusiast­ic group.

“We are confident of your dedication and commitment and encourage you to aim for greater heights.

“You are the new blood. Never stop thinking, think outside the box and always strive to be ‘A’ students,” he added.

Since its inception the AUE has strived to enhance its leading role in supporting and motivating students with the best grades to pursue their higher education in the most current and unique programmes in the UAE and the GCC region as a whole, meeting the needs of the constantly developing markets in their specialisa­tions

‘Prove you are a leader’

“There is no honour greater than the honour of receiving a scholarshi­p,” said Professor Nabeel Jurdi, vice-president for Research Advancemen­t.

“But with this scholarshi­p comes a responsibi­lity to prove that you are a leader. This is a first step towards a higher career.

“Look with pride at what you hope to achieve and walk with your heads high.”
